Reflection

My argument has evolved from project three to project four by introducing the visual side of my journey as a high school senior. Project three was me introducing quiz bowl in sort of an academic language so my audience, who most have misconceptions about quiz bowl, can understand in clear and transparent language how quiz bowl is not any different from another sport-like organization. Project four introduced my side of the story in order to support my argument from project three. Passion is really what motivated me through that journey as a senior and captain of the quiz bowl team, and I was able to capture unique moments for my team, of whom I am fortunate to have played with last year. I decided to share moments from our discord chat and team photos in order to humanize my argument using pathos on how quiz bowl in no different from any other sport. The chats show us motivating, teasing and supporting each other. Those connections are made if not essential to teamwork which is found none other than in sports. Not only did I wanted to share my team, I also posted photos of our accomplishments. Accomplishing something is very satisfying especially when that success is found through passion, and being proud of our accomplishments helped us continue to play strong until the end of the semester. We also gained community support for Glenwood's quiz bowl team by having a chipotle fundraiser. I used a form of Kairos in order to set it up for the school because the day before there were many athletic away games on Saturday and families wouldn't be at home, so I scheduled it on a Sunday so families can come and replenish their energy while supporting the school.
